Rev'd Ian Smart (Chair)
Ian is a minister in the Methodist Church in the UK and is currently stationed in the Bolton Circuit. It was through his initial meeting with Philip Chhetri on a hill in Devon that the relationship between the people of Royston and the members of the Glorious Ministry Church in Nepal was established - this has now grown into the work that we are now committed to, and the setting up of the independent charity UNCLE. He has visited Nepal on three occasions, where he was invited to speak at the Nepal Bible College, the Himalayan Holy Church and Glorious Ministry churches in Kathmandu, and the Glorious Ministry church in Hetauda. Prior to his current profession, Ian was a Senior Technical Evangelist for Sybase, Inc in Emeryville, CA. In this role he both spoke at a wide range of forums around the world in locations ranging from China, to Australia, and from Scandinavia to the United States. He has written and published a number of papers and articles on the performance characteristics of Sybase databases. He will tell anyone who listens how he was the first person in history to ever build a one terabyte Sybase database and to execute a parallel geo-spatial query against any type of database.
Mr. Paul Harris (Treasurer and Secretary)

Mr.Graham Blair
Graham is a retired senior manager from the UK's largest logistics provider Menzies Distribution, with 34 years of experience in the distribution of National Newspapers and Magazines. Following a period if ill health and many changes within the industry which he loved working in, he found a new direction and dedication following the Rev'd Ian Smart's visit to Nepal in 2006. In the early days of retirement, after a very busy working career moving all over the UK, his wife Janet told him of the experiences Ian had on his visit in 2006. He new instantly that he wanted to get actively involved and met with Ian to start plans for a return visit in 2007. Fellow trustee Paul Harris also volunteered and made there first visit which lasted for 42 days in October 2007. A life changing experience, meeting many wonderful inspirational people, but most important many great children in need of help throughout Nepal. Whilst in Nepal he and Paul began the dedicated work not only with the children, but helped on the building project to construct a church in Hetauda, to provide a worship area for a growing congregation of some 150 Christians. The work is not yet complete, but steady progress is being made with ongoing fundraising events which include presentations from what is locally called, The Men from Uncle.
